ATTENTION ALL PARENTS AND STUDENTS

AnnualCross Country potlock picnic this week Thursday, August 25th Acorn Shelter To meet the coaches and captains,hear about upcoming season,find out about our fundraiser,learn about pasta parties and snack sign-up,and socialize with other parents and athletes while having a picnic at Elm Creek!

Please bring as follows: Seniors and Juniors: Main Dishes Sophomores and Freshman: Desserts Eighth and Seventh Graders: Sides(salad,fruit,veggies) Practice will start at 5. Parents please arrive at 5:30 to have a chance to stop by all the "booths" and make sure we have all the food ready to go when the athletes get back at 6. If anyone has old spikes from previous years that you athletes have outgrown, please bring them to the picnic as well to be sold or donate,whichever you prefer. If you are selling please put a name and price on the spikes. Also reminder clothing order is due at the picnic or before so remeber if you or your athlete wants any clothing items,remeber parents there are great parent shirts this year!

CAMPOUT Boys and Girls

Please try to have forms all in by Wed for girls give to Emily and make checks out to Osseo CC. Boys are also due by Wed give to David and make checks out to Ann Johnson. Hope to see large attendance they all ave a great time every year!

Alumni Meet Saturday, August 20th

We are hoping for a solid showing from the Osseo CC alumni. The current runners are geared up for a solid showing. First race is at 9:30am behind the new playground/beach area. We appreciate our ALUMNI as this program was built by YOU!!!!

Practice Location at Elm Creek Elementary

Starting Tuesday, August 16th we will be moving our "base camp" for practice to the east area of the school site. It will be closer to the basketball courts and restroom areas. This will give us more space, grass, and less traffic.

Thursday, August 18th Morning distance run AND 6pm practice at Elm Creek Elementary

Friday, August 19th Morning Practice at 8am at Elm Creek Elementary

Saturday, August 20th 48th Annual Osseo CC Alumni Run at Elm Creek Park. Set up will be behind the playground area. Runners are expected to participate in this 2 or 2.5 mile race with former Osseo runners. It is a fun morning together. Please be there by 9am and first race is at 9:30am. Should be wrapping up around 10:30am.

Registration Paperwork

All paperwork must be handed into the Osseo High School activities office. Hours should be 7am to 3:30pm. If you need a packet let me know. Physical must be completed every three years or for first time athletes. You WILL NOT be allowed to participate in practice until I receive clearance from the activities office. They have extra help in the office and you should be cleared to practice the same day :)

Annual Camp Weekend

REMINDER Captains are busy planning their annual camp out weekends. For those of you who may not know or may just need a reminder. The Cross Country team each the boys and the girls have their seperate annual camp out weekend the weekend of August 26 thru the 28th.You do not want to miss it. Its a fun filled weekend and good bonding time for the team! The students have so much fun. Info should be coming soon to practice. Hope to see you all there.

NEW Coach

Hello Cross Country students, parents and alumni. I (Matt Gifford) will be leaving the Osseo Cross Country, Nordic Ski, and Track programs for next year. After struggling with this decision for a very long time, I decided that this is the best decision for me and my career as a teacher and coach. I will be consoladating my efforts at Maple Grove High School where I have been teaching for 2 years now. Despite my leaving, I am confident that our cross country program will continue to be successful with the hiring of John Rundquist as the head Cross Country Coach. I know that he is excited, capable, and up for the challenge with leading this program. Coach Rundquist and I worked very closely last year together and I know that he is the right man for the job. Coach Rundquist is hoping that all parents and athletes (returnees and first timers) will be able to join him for a team meeting during the first two weeks of June (pencil in Thursday, June 2nd) to meet the coaches, discuss summer training, look ahead to the fall, and most importantly start this new chapter of Osseo Cross Country TOGETHER.
